Project one, post 2

I feel that my project has started to progress well have found a path to follow and I no longer feel lost.  When I started  I kept the project quite broad because that is what I am used to need to apply the sequential thinking to my project more. I think that I was doing well with the work load but I can feel myself slipping behind a bit behind but not far enough for me to get very worried. I have started preparing for the workshop and doing some research before I get to the workshop instead of after this has helped me keep up to date and I find that I am going into the workshop with more ideas.

broken reinforced concrete

I have been looking at old, broken reinforced concrete that I found on the farm lane behind my house. I really like the way that it is broken but is still held together by the steel wire inside. This has given me ideas for joining materials together with the wire to make them look broken but still hold a shape.

This idea is quite broad but something that I can apply sequential thinking to this. I also have some ideas to take this to the wood workshop and my two remaining workshops, using the same idea and use of natural materials combined with the different materials in the metal and ceramic workshop. I really like the use of natural and found materials and they always creep into my work. The path that I have taken in the ceramic transfer and the wood workshop clearly shows my passion for nature and the things nature inflicts on objects. the coconut shell will be put outside to weather hopefully the copper will oxidise and turn green.

I have used a mixture of other designers and my own visual research to help in my designs. Looking at my sketchbook I feel that I need to draw more possibilities I also think that I need to try more experiments in the workshop to work out the best way of making what I want to make. At my progress review I talked with my tutor about my sketchbook and it was suggested that I keep everything separate which I find weird and uncomfortable  with because it is something I have never done before and I have got used to everything being all together in the same place. The rest of my feedback was positive and has given me some confidence in my work.
