I am very happy with the reinforced concrete idea using wire to connect objects and have found it very rewarding I have come up with more possibilities than I thought possible. This train of thought has been present throughout my wood workshop, metal work shop, and ceramics. I have been breaking objects to attach them together again and in other cases I have created the object in two parts to be put together. The use of wire to connect is my main train of thought some of my objects are held together by the wire and is structural while some just looks structural but is just decorative. I have also tried to keep to the same colour pallet using a mixture of natural and added green, turquoise and blue. However I am not certain if my ceramic glazes will fit in, as it can be hard to predict and anything can happen.
I have tried to apply sequential thinking throughout all of my workshops but think it could have been done better I need to spend less time in my sketchbook and more time making. To do this I will need to find some more efficient ways to document my work to allow more time to spend making.
I feel like I have kept to the restraints of the cube, cuboid, cylinder brief however I feel like I should have set more stricter constraints earlier. I have learnt a lot of techniques and processes throughout the rotational workshops And feel more confident to use the machinery and tools. I need to organise my techniques and put them all in one place which I can add to and is easily assessable if I need to refer back to it.
I need to make some improvements in finishing of objects to give them a more professional quality and make this a habit. I feel like I should use more drawing in my sketchbook and use more media, also use media that will show and resemble the material to help me make better judgements while developing ideas and before making them, Instead of using media that if am comfortable with. I also need to apply the drawing techniques as I seem to have stopped doing them.
I feel that I lot of my work looks messy and poorly made but I don’t like straight precise perfect things and prefer more natural shapes, however I need to apply this to the right aspect of my work and not the whole of it. My ceramic work seems very messy and I hope that some glaze will tidy them up a bit.
